Hi All, Firstly... Hello! Having registered on this site and had a very excitable conversation with MEV, I think I have the bug! After a thoroughly unsuccessful confusing attempt to build a Tiger Cat E1 to IVA, I am now considering a Sonic7. Part kit is now up for sale and I am really excited about kit cars again. How long, realistically does anyone believe it would take for one experienced builder and me (Ok at mechanical but very dodgy with wiring) to complete to BIVA and registration. We expect to have at least two weeks full time on the build to start off with, followed by weekends and evenings. I would like to start with the basic 1.8 zetec donor but was tempted by a type r. I know it's a kind of a piece of string question but I was wondering how other builders have fared with the Sonic.

Hello Simon
I built my rocket in 5 months. Most take a little longer but not much.
I helped my self by keeping it simple. Go with the zetec to start with. If its too slow you can always swap it later on.
Cheers

Hi Simon, Having a great time building my Sonic (when the day job allows). Not so fortunate to have a two week solid build block, so 1-2 evenings per week means my build will probably be closer to 8 months. Lots of advice and support from everyone on here helps with the technical questions and motivation.

Just got back from a visit to MEV. I would like to add to all the positive comments I have read here and elsewhere. Very friendly and helpful but couldn't talk me out of wanting a Sonic . Went for a blast round the block and now I can't wait to get started!

Hi Simon Have you ordered a sonic 7 kit yet . If you have then let the fun start if not do it now so the fun can start ASAP. I picked up my Sonic 7 at the end of last year but the weather has stopped work .Now the weather is better I will be out the back working on it.
