Would be great to see it at Bring em home. I have paid my money and will be in attendance. Had a quick look around your car when I was at RTR picking mine up, so it will be good to see it on the road/track.

Hi marc
I'm hoping it will be ready for Bring em home day, If so I will be in attendance. It would be good to see a good turnout of Sonic's. Is there a list of cars that are going.
Cheers Andy

Hi Andy The Sonic looks great - nice job Can I ask where you sourced your seats? I'm planning a build early next year and I'm trying to get as much research done up front as I can. Your seats look comfortable (I'm of the "larger" build) and I know you had trouble getting the seats to fit, so I hope you can point me in the right direction. Also, once you have the car on the road, I'd be interested to know how your seats fare with the weather (as opposed to using the RTR GRP seats which are obviously more outdoor suited!). Any other interesting parts you would suggest getting (or avoiding?) Thanks Vince

Hi Vince
I got the seats from e-bay I think they where £180. I will let you know how they are when I get a chance to get the car out for a spin. It is at RTR at the moment to get IVA test tomorrow.
As for any other Interesting Part to suggest getting. I would suggest the Gear Change & Accelerator pedal from the Joker.
Cheers Andy

Not to bad. a result The lads at RTR will have to put new Seats in or they could have done the work at the test center today. The Retest is next Tuesday. Cheers Andy

Welcome to the 1st time fail club. All the best cars fail first time..... Not too much wrong though and all seem very fixable. Good luck for next week.

Congratulations, it's good to see more Sonic's making it onto the road.
For insurance I managed to get a quote for £180.00 ( 5k miles + spouse + SD&P + Commuting ). That was from Glynwood. My existing insurer that I had used for build up and the first month on the road wanted £345 for renewal.
Anyway the fun starts now, if your like me you'll keep watching the weather forecast to see if it is going to be dry long enough to get out.
The biggest surprise I've had is just how much heat comes off the front radiator and comes through to warm up the "cabin".
If you've not done it already buy some safety sunglasses and wraparound clear safety specs for evening/night time. It's a lot more fun than wearing a helmet. SO far I've not caught any stones to the head but have had to duck a couple of times on the motorway. Normally when passing HGV's as they throw up a lot of fine grit and any stones they find.

Hi All
Just to let you all know I have got the Sonic back home waiting for the registration paper work to come through. As Ned said in his post we had a good look at some of the other cars that are in for work. Some fantastic work has been done on the cars by there owners. I would like to thank Paul and all the at RTR for getting my Sonic7 through it's IVA and getting it registered.
Cheers Andy

Hi All Well as I said in the last post I have got my sonic7 back home on Tuesday just waiting for the Registration paper work to arrive. Well the paper work arrived today, the number plates have been made and fitted the tax disc holder fitted then the rain came on. So went up the town did this and that had a late lunch and hay -presto the rain went off. Got the car out from under the cover and took it out for it.s first run around the locale streets. Can't stop grinning ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Great fun. Turned a lot of heads But one or to problems 1] Scrapes the speed bump at the bottom of the street. The bolt on the driver's seat was to long so put a shorter bolt in. 2] Accelerator slicking on at high revs. Adjusted cable as it enters outer cable. 3] Off side indicator not working. New bulb fitted. 4[ Steering wheel not sitting straight. Moved steering wheel quarter turn on the boss. Nothing to bad so still smiling. Weather is to be good tomorrow More fun fun fun Cheers Andy
