Hi All
Been a few months from the last time I had the Sonic out for a spin so with a weekend off from work & DIY in the house I thought I would Check over the Sonic and go for a Run. The smile is back on my face.

Thought about getting out in the sun this morning myself Andy, but as usual pissed about too much and the rain started. Hopefully a sign of the weather to come.

Which set of spacers did you order, I need to order a pair tomorrow that fit concentric on the hub, so they don't get off center

Which set of spacers did you order, exact specs and vender would be greatly appreciated. I would like to order a pair that fit concentric on the hub, so they don't get off center. How is the car running? Thanks Brian G

Hi Brian
I would agree that the concentric spacers are best. I got them from e-bay. I don't have a record of the seller but if you look on e-bay you should find a set.

Hi Andy Can you give me a bit of advice? How did you seal the all thread to the fuel pump top and bottom? What is the best way of sealing the pump to the top of the fuel tank? And finally did you have to alter the length of the inlet tube as mine currently touches the chassis? Regards Robert

Hi Robert
The seal on the thread I used small rubber round rings under the flat washers. As for the seal between the pump and tank I used the original seal from the Focus that I trimmed down.
As for altering the inlet Tub that was a bit of a pain. I didn't want to cut it down so that it was lower than the top of the tank but it would not sit flat on the floor with the filler through the side rails. I had to trim the tabs that bolt the tank to the floor so it moved the tank towards the passenger side of car then I also put a dent in the Inlet Tube as it passes the inner chassis rail to give it a bit more clearance. Hope this helps.
Cheers andy

Hi Robert Photo of tank before it went in to car. The Pen mark on the inlet pipe is where the dent was made around the other side to give clearance from the chassis rail. photo of tank under the body.

Where the cooling hoses runs past the exhaust, we have made them in Alu pipe and that is now fixed to the bulkhead. Flexible hoses each end will allow for engine movement. (we hope) From memory, in the rear we are using: 4 x 32mm 90 degree bends 1 x 32mm 135 degree bend 1M x 32mm flexible hose 1 x T piece (2 x 32mm + 1 x 19mm ) 1 x T piece (3 x 19mm ) 1 x 1M 19mm flexible hose 2 x 1M 19mm Alu pipe 1 x 0.5M 9mm flexible hose Do you know what pipes are needed for the front ? Trying to get mine ordered this weekend

Hi All
Not been on the forum as much as normal. Due to work I got the Sonic out for the first time this Year the day before Stoneleigh. Had to put it on charge to get it started so I didn't even get to take it a run. With all the work commitments at the moment I have decided to give the Sonic away. Don't worry it will only be away for a few day to get the engine changed over that I have been looking to do myself for the last 2 years. It is going to a mate that runs a small garage to get the work done.
Hope to be able to get a bit more time to get out in it.
See you all on the Scotland Road Trip Andy

Just been out today myself Andy. Started the car for the first time in about 8 months.
I went over to Dyna Tune in East Kilbride to sort out a problem with the engine struggling at low revs turns out it was just a fuelling issue so all sorted now.
If you want to give your car a tune after the engine change I would highly recommend giving Chris a call and going over for a stint on his machine.
