Hi everyone, am thinking about Finaling geting my hands dirty and building my first kit car, i was thinking about a Tiger or Robin hood type 7 , but have always liked the Mev rocket and know the Exocet, i am a little concerned as i have lots of intrested but not a great deal of mechanical knowledge. i have contacted stiggy who i have brought the Exocet Build manual to get an idea of the build before i place my take the plunge. is it best to get the doner mx5 and then place the order for the kit (how long is the waiting list for the kit) i am located in telford Shropshire, is there anyone near me building a Exocet, i'm not far from the Mev factory or i might wait to see the car at stonleigh as i have been attending the stonleigh show every year since i was 10, (1987) as i have always been very intrested in the kit cars. any info or surgestions would be appreciated

Hello mate.
Welcome to the forum. Last I heard the waiting time is about 6 weeks. But best to contact MeV directly as there has seemed to be alot of interest over the last month.
Regards Alan

HI thanks for the emails, does it matter if the MX5 donor car is the import eunus, and will it matter if the car has PAS, seen a couple of cheap eunus for £500 with No MOT, 1.8's

theres no major differences between the MX5 and the Eunos, the eunos will usually be better spec'd than the mx5 so more to sell on later as for powersteering it can be kept on the exocet or removed and bypassed, the exocet is light enough to be used without it many builders on here have bypassed it so far and i believe there is also a kit available in the states to do it properly
