Hi folks, looking for a run down of what i'll need to build this. Anyone completed one that could give me the info please.
Complete Kit from RTR - £5,400 R1 Donor - ~£2k but will get plenty back off that in part sales
I take it i will also need to purchase :
4 x wheels and tyres Brake setup - which ones are recommended? Steering wheel and rack - again which one? Wheel Bearings - as above?
Anything else i have missed out from the list?
What is the average build time for an Atomic?
Finally, as for the performance figures etc. Anyone timed one?
Cheers, Olie

Hi Olie,
there are several Atomics now finished and 2 of these are heading our way very shortly for their IVA tests (one is being delivered to us next Wednesday in fact).
You will need front brakes (rear are provided with the kit) and for this we recommend the Hi-Spec calipers that we now offer, a seat and of course wheels and tyres.
The pedals and master cylinders are provided with the kit.
Steering column and rack are provided with the kit.
Wheel bearings are provided with the kit as they form part of the hubs that come with the kit.
It's difficult to quantify the hours as this all depends on your attention to detail with things like wiring etc, but 120 to 150 hours is very realistic.
The build guide is basic but any information that you need is readily available from us and we try to respond to all calls for help the day that they arrive, so don't fear building this kit as it is all pretty straightforward.
Nobody has yet timed one but Steve Marsh's fuel injected Atomic was at Curborough last year and with over 400BHP/tonne power to weight ratio, it was extremely rapid.

Excellent, thanks for that. One last thing, what is the current situation with the roll-over bars, are they the double hump or one single arc? or What's the range on a tank, any ideas? Do you have a demonstrator that i could have a good look round? Still planning to make the trip down to see you guys soon. Cheers,

Both roll bar options are available. The double hoop style is standard across our range now but the single hoop is still available to special order if this is what you desire. Our demo car is available at HQ in Nottingham as is the tR1ke so if you have any doubts you will be able to make a final decision once you see both cars side by side. As a pure track day tool the Atomic is sensational but the tR1ke has 2 seats. Both are awesome... u decide... see you in Nottingham soon RTR

Another question, what's the top speed roughly for each gear with the diff that's in place?

The Atomic has a 3.38/1 final drive which gives 128mph at 12,500 rpm
The gears on the R1 box are fairly evenly spaced with 60mph in 1st if you take it to the rev limit.
You get slighty higher speeds through the gears on a fuel injected engine due to it's higher rev limit.
This is also governed by wheel and tyre size as a lower profile tyre reduces the final drive for example using 45 section tyres instead of 50 section.
