Hi Edwin Yes my bonnet catches but only when braking hard with a passenger on bumpy roads. How much clearance do you have at the front, can you wind the preload up a little on the front springs for more clearance. I think a visit to Hyperpro would be a good idea a buy some new springs, painted black though as purple might not look right with your blue tR1ke

This weekend will try to make a visit to Hyperpro.
I also prefer the black springs, above the standard purple ones. But that is a matter of personal taste.
Will share findings.

Relocated the choke lever. With engine cold start choke is needed first 30 seconds only. From central console up to the airbox: Behind view:

Yesterday evening got stranded.
Empty battery....

Testing the charging circuit of the tR1ke...
First cleaning and greasing connectors from generator and from the rectifier. (The connector to the rectifier was a bit corroded.)
My tR1ke has two fuel pumps: 1st fuel pump, after market pump, pumps fuel up to my swirl tank. 2nd fuel pump, donor fuel pump, pumps fuel from swirl tank to carburetors.
Voltage of the rectifier: Input is about 12 volts AC between any two white wires. Output is 14,4 volts DC. (Sounds OK to me.)
I got the following measurements of the battery amps, with engine idling at 1300 rpm:
2 fuel pumps, rectifier disconnected, (all electricity comes from battery) - 1,5A 2 fuel pumps, rectifier connected: + 1,8A 2 fuel pumps, rectifier connected, lights on: 0,2A (battery is charged with only 0,2 Amps, not much)
1 fuel pump, rectifier disconnected, (all electricity comes from battery) - 0,5A 1 fuel pump, rectifier connected: + 3,5A 1 fuel pump, rectifier connected, lights on: 1A (battery is charged with 1 Amp)
Result: Empty battery was possibly caused by corroded connector. This results into higher resistance so battery charging was blocked. Current consumption of 1st fuel pump is relative high.
Does any of you have comparising measurements?

Cause of the empty battery: (Corroded connector) In this picture the connector is already cleaned. The rectifier and connector touched the inside of the nose cone. So I moved the rectifier a bit to the left. Original situation: Modified situation:

Replaced nose cone fixings with eye bolts. So the cone can be removed without any tools.

Hi Paul, thank you for suggesting. I will consider it. I have not decided for my final solution yet.
Next project will be improving my trottle cable handling. I am not satisfied how it feels. (to hard) And last weekend the trottle cable got damaged because of the tension on the cable is high.
Original motor bike trottle cable is two times pull. Pull cable for opening and another pull cable for closing.
Now I am only using the pull cable for opening, the pull cable for closing is preloaded with a spring. So when pressing the trottle pedal, the trottle cable is pressing two springs: original at the carburators, preloaded spring of pull cable for closing the trottle.
Plan is to restore original situation and make a double trottle cable. Will share my results.

Hi Edwin
I look forward to seeing how you fit the double cable setup.
When you say the throttle is too hard do you mean it has too much friction in the cable, or is it that you want a lighter feel to the throttle because the spring on the cable at the carb end is too strong for your liking.

Hi Edwin I am still debating on how I will do my throttle on my ECO-Exo-R. For the Bonnet I got four of these . About the size of a US quarter. They work great and hold about 150 Lbs. Quik Latch Mini

When you say the throttle is too hard do you mean it has too much friction in the cable, or is it that you want a lighter feel to the throttle because the spring on the cable at the carb end is too strong for your liking. Current trottle cable already has teflon insert for smooth action. But this cable also has tension of two springs, so it behaves a bit elastic. Closing the trottle is to much damped by the trottle cable resistance. Current situation: pedal, cable, originalspring, return cable and second spring. New situation: pedal, thicker cable, mechanism with spring and double trottle, cables, original spring. To increase dynamic all cables are 7x7 wires, before i had standard 7x wires. And all cable mantle have teflon insert. Parts: www.cable-shop.nl
