It's been a while since I let something know. It has been a little busy here, so there was not much time. I did do something: the frame is approved by the dutch authorities, so the VIN is stamped in! Here I picked it up at the powder coater's. It's galvanised and has 2 layers of powder coating satin black. To protect the inner side of the tubing I used Tectyl where possible. Here I mounted the bottom: As you can see, it is also powdered. Lot of riveting by the way. I also used car window kit to glue the bottom to the fram to prevent it from making annoying noises while driving. From above: After day 2: mounted the engine, tanks, exhaust manifold, swingarm+wheel, tunnel inner parts, cooling pipes, steering column and rack, wishbones, accelerator (which is completely different than supplied by RTR, will post pics later) and several small parts: To be continued... Nice...

Have been doing some small things tha past few days: mounted front wheel suspension, braking, steering stuff, cooling: Here are some pics of the throttle pedal. I struggled with the standard one to adjust it correctly and finally I discarded it. Searched for a new one and found it on Ebay somewhere in the USA. I'ts a universal one that is specially for hotrods etc. Needless to say I had to modify the frame and I made a bracket for the springs and the cable gland.: Also, I wrapped the exhaust manifold with heat wrap to prevent the exhaust heat from damaging things: And this is the rear side of the bilk head. It is wrapped in a carbon-look vinyl and in the middle I glued a heat resistant sheet: That will be all for now!

Needless to say, it is a stunning machine. I didn't even push it and stuffed the exhaust and intake to meet sound regulations for the approval, but still this thing is a ferrari-killer!

I use a push-pull system for the throttle for safety reasons. Of course, I use a throttle pedal with the usual springs. Found it on ebay. Because the pedal is a "2-stage"model, it feels very natural. Also, its very easy to adjust it just the way you want. But for pulling the cable back, I made an aluminium tube, with a little sping inside. This spring I connected to the original pull-cable. This is a little video of what I did: And here some pics:

Did a lot lately, but all "putting the dots on the i" (free translated from dutch :-)). A lot of little problems solved, checked sound level, made the warning lights work when contact is off (mandatory in NL), adusted speedo healer and power commander, mounted the last bits&pieces etc. I 'ordered' the surveyor this tuesday, but he didn't contact me yet... Hopefully he will do soon! With the spring ahead, I really want to be on the road now!

If I see all that rubber on the street, I assume your back tyre is smelling an hour in the wind. (Free translation from Dutch as well) Likely other tR1ke builders can not bake a cake of it.

The last bits: Rearside (some parts needs to be painted in orange) : Engine bay: Interior, the right seat must be mounted, but I wanted to show you the electrical cubicle: Front, I'm not yet pleased with the indicators and headlights, but they need to be this way to get the approval. So, once I have the licence plate, something else will be mounted : Still waiting for the dutch autorities to contact me about surveying my tR1ke. Tomorrow I will give them a wake-up call, hopefully they can give me a date!
