Grant's Exocet build

So I've taken the plunge and got myself a donor, honestly I wish I had taken a bit more time to think about what I wanted out of the donor but eBay bidding took control.

Anyway I have purchased a 2000 Mk2 1.6 MX5 which still has an MOT so was able drive it home, bit of a blast.

Have I made a fair choice in this 1.6 or should I have waited for the 1.8. Has mine even an LSD?

Anyway too late for ifs and buts, I have started a strip down but am I supposed to be following a detailed guide. I have downloaded the pdf off the mev site but doesnt really detail the scary bits like pulling out the dash with airbags still inside.

I've tried to look on the tech section of the forum, as other builders have suggested, but cant seem to access the build guide/tech section, says password protected. Is this just me, have I already lost the plot?

The build guide is really only a guide. I did not pay much attention to it. If you have not already joined the uk Exocet page on Facebook this is your best place for advice and much more immediate responses. There are some great build diaries in here though don’t get me wrong.

Hi, I would really encourage the printing and reading of the MEV build guide as it answers so many questions we see time and time again
Oh and same with the IVA manual too.
