Donor Car That Has Been Written Off?

Hello All

My name is Rob, I am new arrival here, and hoping to be here a while

I am currently looking at buying a donor MX5, and have found a couple at local salvage yards. One of them is a Cat N, stolen recovered, and the other is a Cat S, with bonnet and fender damage, but the suspension seems intact, kind of like something fell onto it. Has anyone used a written off car as a donor? and if so did you have extra issues when it came time to IVA it?

Having done some further research, i believe that it wont affect me negatively when it comes time to IVA. Well at least i hope not, as i have taken the plunge and bought a Donor car. i will start a build thread when it gets delivered

Shouldn't have any problems using a written off donor. The Exocet is given a new chassis number on registration so any marker on the car currently will go with it to the scrap heap.

If you do not have a V5 for the donor you will get a Q plate

Hi, Thanks for the information, I am buying it directly from the salvage company "Synetiq" it hasn't had any owners since the accident 5 weeks ago, I will be ordering a new V5 for it, so that shouldn't be a problem.
