I think this build log is going to become more of a monthly thing at this rate. Spent a fair bit of time getting the footwells and trans tunnel made and ready to fit, went with a nice matt black vinyl instead of paint and love how they've come out. Not quite the 1 piece that I'd planned to make, it fits very nicely.
After filling up the gearbox, the trans tunnel is now in place with rivnuts, so it's easy access if I ever need to get back to the gearbox. The footwell panels aren't going in just yet, until I've got the wiring tray sorted and have holes in the right places. The isn't as much of a gap as that pic shows when it's all lined up properly ;-)

Next I decided to get the bonnet test fitted against the rad as suggested further up my build log. I had bought a mk1 alu rad and had to trim back quite a bit from the MEV brackets to get the clearance, which then meant the fan won't fit behind it anymore, no biggie and £20 later on ebay I have a new slimline fan on the way. Bonnet now all lines up and I'm so pleased with my colour choice, looks aawesome First test fit
I'm keeping the power steering in the car, but instead of using the existing spaghetti cooling lines that I can't find a decent way of fitting, I'm intending to use a small 10u oil cooler and use flex lines to connect up to the power steering reservoir. After asking about suitable hoses to use on Facebook, I'm going to use fuel hose that I have left over instead of silicone/plain rubber.

As a job on Sunday, I decided to not take the risk (of both fire and for IVA), and knock up a drip tray that will fit nicely under the MK2 tank that will be hung underneath the mounting brackets. This is the result of my efforts, just need to PV the pieces together and set in place.
I'm popping up to see Stewart tomorrow to sort out a minor issue with my wiring tray, and will definitely be snapping a few more pics of the example car now I'm further into the build.

We kept our PS and used copper coiled up and mounted on the radiator (fan on the outside blowing inwards) to keep it cool. I may be adding a 2nd fan though to keep the temperature down overall.

Popped over to MEV HQ a couple of weeks ago, sorted the wiring tray and picked up some bonnet hinges. Bumped into one of the guys picking up there kits, and was good to have a chat for a bit. Car wise I've been focusing on getting the engine bay tided and everything fitted. Last job now is to mount the new slim line fan properly, it's only roughly in place at the moment while I was sorting the power steering and coolant bottle. Coolant bottle was an ebay jobby that I've seen a few others used, held in place with my bottle holder off the bike and a large clip to keep it in place
Then for the power steering. As I mentioned before I decided to go the route of using an oil cooler to keep things neat and tidy, and I'm super happy with the result. Photo is deceiving absolutely loads of room around the pipes and everything is solid. Will look at making a bracket for the other side of the reservoir and connect it to the lower tube on the frame.
