We don't like to sit around twiddling our thumbs at MEV HQ. As we're always being asked about full cages, we thought we'd add it to the development list.

Unfortunately it's not a retro-fit due to the changes required to the chassis. That is unless you want to strip the chassis and rebuild it.

Will the 2020 car still be available with just the roll bar?

The G-type kit with a roll bar is by far the most popular and will remain available. Something like 100-1. The full cage is as heavy as the chassis but popular for racing.

Absolutely. The 2020 car is the same as the 2019 car, don’t worry. As standard it will come with a roll bar. The option to add the cage will be available in the new year. It isn’t a retro-fit cage to existing chassis, instead it’s another optional upgrade.

Hopefully the cage can be styled with a lower rake for the "screen". I don't feel that the current more upright and square shape cage does the car justice. In the picture you can see a very old car, ignore the car but look how the cage is configured, 1 hoop to the front and 1 to the rear, a nice low screen angle, add in the 2 roof rails and a diagonal rear brace and it would look great on Exocet. I realise a cage is all about safety but no reason for it not to add to the drama in the looks dept.
