It might seem a bit of a daft question....but I will ask it anyway.
How do you wash or clean the car yourself?
I took mine out last week for a shake down and its a bloody nightmare getting the frame clean and keeping the electrics dry (have IP65 grade ECU so not that worried), stopping water pooling up in the footwell etc. It got a hit with the jet wash and a dry with the leaf blower in the end.
I have bought some roll cage clear tape to protect the frame from minor scratches that I will fit in the better weather. Any good tips for protecting the car?
So on the basis that it might be a wet track day or sprint race, its going to get dirty.
I was interested in everyone's experiences.
Thanks, John.

Good old bucket and sponge. Drilled some drain holes in the footwell as we don't get the choice with the weather when racing. If its wet, we get wet! Electrics should be fine. Remember they're out of a convertible anyway, so Mazda assumed they'd get wet at some point in it's life.

As the freak said I have drilled and dimpled the floor to drain water. I found the spray horrendous stuff combe but don’t yet have the aero screen on so was thinking of some universal mud flaps on the front wings to reduce it..

Funny how I just drilled some holes 2 hours ago! Why does that hurt so much to admit? ??

Yeah a little a scary no one likes putting more holes, just make sure they are big enough to allow water out too small and surface tension stops it coming out..

Demon Shine the sh*t out of it once cleaned, will rinse off better next time. Well since its black and white I think this is worth a go so it dry's streak free.

I made them up with a bit of spare wrap and a roll of 3M knife tape. They are not the finished item. I used two different finishes front and rear to see how they look in daylight. The bonnet stripes are not even so all will be redone when the weather is warmer so the wrap sticks easier.
I chose the colour based on the pallet Mercedes F1 use with black, silver and teal.
I brightens up a black and white car.
I really like the side panel stripe.
