Hi, I'm looking to swap out my Hazard and Fog switch to a hazard style one but the wiring diagrams don't match the Haynes manual or Melens. Mine is a 1999 Mk2 1.8 Donor and the switches I'm planning on using are these: www.carbuilder.com/uk/hazard-switch-illuminated-black-bezel (wiring pic is on there) I have tried the fog one already and it works the fog light but doesn't illuminate......... Anyone got any pics of yours if you have done the same or know how to do it. I presume the Hazard one (mine is a multi-pin plug) has wires for: Constant power in live feed to hazard lights illumination feed earth? feed to the dimmer unit etc

Update for anyone with a MK2 donor:
The fog switch is ok to swap to a savage style, just need to make sure the led on the new switch works first - saves a load of time troubleshooting problems to find it's the led that's fubar.
Hazard - OMG what a mare. The standard MK2 Hazard has some sort of diodes in it and removing the unit and trying to fit any other type of switch is a nightmare. There is a leak back current somewhere that basically means that you can get either the hazards working without ignition or you can have indicators with ignition on. We had a point where with no keys in, the indicators would work on the stalk - weird. It was a real pain.
We had to solder in diodes x2 to make it work. These went across multiple wires but I'm really glad to say that I now have working nice switches. I'll take pics and post for others thinking of doing the same thing.
