Hi there, I have a few donor refurb questions:
I’m getting subframes, arms etc ready to send to the powdercoaters, and would rather not have to grind/cut anything once they’re coated. Could you please let me know what modifications I will need to make to the donor parts before they are done? So far I’ve got:
Cut front wishbones for banana plates Trim front subframe for shock clearance Cut end sections from brace frame
Anything else? Do I need to keep the exhaust hangers on the rear subframe, or should I cut them off?
Secondly, and probably more contentiously, bushes!! I have searched the forum, and read lots of contrasting information, so would be interested to hear from any/all that have experience.
What do people recommend? eBay / Energy Suspension / IL rubber bushes / Powerflex?
The car will be used for the road, maybe an occasional track day, and no more than 1500ish miles a year. Has anyone added grease nipples to a polybushed suspension, and if so, does it make any difference.
I’d love to hear from people who have got their car on the road to see what real life performance of the various types is like.
Thanks very much
Adrian

Hello You may have to trim abs nubbin from rear hubs to have a flat area to mount fender mounts. Pictures in my build log.
Take everything possible to powder coasters, such as light/mirror mounts, radiator mounts, maybe even pedals and hand brake, Cheers Russ
