Hi all, After road testing the machine I decided I seriously need to gain some height. I fitted aftermarket suspension before and only have 80mm clearance at the FRAME let alone exhaust and steering rack. So, I believe I should use the shocks below with standard springs to maintain a nice ride height, I wondered if anyone had a definitive answer to this? The shocks I am thinking of getting are: BILSTEIN B6 Sport Shock Absorber Front 24-065580 for Mazda - MX-5 II (NB) I know I can possibly use the B8's too but they are only for upgraded springs, I assume the sport mx5 springs are different to my donors so as I say, a clear answer would be very much appreciated. Apart from that, all good, she's alive! (finally..)

I have Bilsteins in my Exocet with standard springs as with lowered springs the rear wishbones were hitting the frame. Far to harsh a ride. My winter project is to replace them with Protech Suspension which will be matched with suitable rated springs due to the lighter weight of the exocet

Fantastic. So when you say standard springs I assume you mean your donors originals? In which case what model was your donor? I have bought the B6's so just want to get the right springs first time and I don't know if the factory fitted springs are different sizes in different mk's. Cheers for the input
