Can the two tubular sections to the front of the rear sub frame be removed? I recall seeing somewhere they are not used in the build (and I can't see any mounting points) but thought best to check!

I cant see your picture on my work system however I have documented this in my build and also recall seeing a picture in the build guide. I think you need to keep the smaller square frame and cut off the longer two tubular tubes...

i can see your pic now. You can actually cut off most of it and keep approx 3 inches which you can flatten down and bolt to two tabs that now exist on the frame from MEV.
This is also documented in the build guide.
Not sure if its worth the effort.
