Braking questions for other sonic7 builders.
Did you finish your hard line brake pipes with male or female unions?
Did you route the hard lines on the upper or lower chassis rail to the wishbone mounts?
What flexible hoses did you buy between the hard lines and calipers?
thanks

Hard lines all have male fittings with double flares, I ran all the lines on the lower chassis. Flex hoses are 20 inch front and 18 inch rear, Wilwood kits that came with the car. A couple of pictures to show my layout:

snowbird1 Thanks John, we had to make a start before your reply, so you can see what we ended up doing here, but the pictures still helped for the next stages. build updateIt looks like you have used a neat adapter between the hardlines and flexi's?

The adapters came with the flax lines kits but I think they are available separately:

This is important the rear brakes need a flex line that is 18 inchs long, but the front brakes need one that is 22 inches long (24 will also work). I just installed my front brakes (it is funny driving with only rear brakes) : )
Let me see if I have my jegs order list for you.

Braking questions for other sonic7 builders. Did you finish your hard line brake pipes with male or female unions? Hardline terminate to Fitting (555-100780) on Jegs. I also got the 18 inches flex hoses from Jegs they already had this fitting installed so you just put it directly on your double flare. The 24 inch flex hose which i specifed need the fitting I just typed. To mount them on the frame you need these www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/63091/10002/-1 They rust so you need to paint them. Did you route the hard lines on the upper or lower chassis rail to the wishbone mounts? Lower Chassis Rails, on the front you need to tie the flex hoses to the top of the lower swing arm so they do not get pinched during running. Triple check you have them in the right spot if not you may spring a brake leak due to a pinch. What flexible hoses did you buy between the hard lines and calipers? 18 inch in the back see my post above, 24 inch in the Front to make sure it has clearance for turning the wheels. thanks Read more: mevowners.proboards.com/thread/9582/brake-pipes?page=1#ixzz5GfRFAYhO

Thanks, those brackets are perfect and what I need to unblock us on this, just need to find somewhere in the UK that does them or similar. I guess the length depends on where you terminate the hardlines, thats whats hard to work out without the body and wishbones/calipers on yet.

You will terminate the hard lines close to the ends of the lower A-arms, on the outside of the A-arms is best. You need it close as possible to the body shell because the flex lines are short and you need all the length you can get to account for the travel of the suspension. If you hard lines are to short, get a double flare union it helps you fix your mistakes without re-running a bunch of line. www.jegs.com/i/Dorman-Products/326/43376/10002/-1
