After considering an Exocet a number of years ago, I'm back looking again and after doing a google image search I was really pleased to see that the Exocet seems to have undergone some styling tweaks which (IMO) really enhance the car. Upon further investigation, it appears that the images I've been looking at are the US Exomotive Exocet rather than the UK MEV Exocet and I'm a bit confused.
It looks like Exomotive have picked up the Exocet design and really run with it, improving the ridigity of the chassis by 300%, adding support for LS1 engines, polycarbonate side panels, rear/front wings, tweaking the bonnet and fuel tank cover, and the results look really good. Pictures of the Exomotive Exocet Race Turbo XP-4 look amazing! The squared-off nose cone really hides some of the bulk of the current design.
Over here in the UK however, none of this seems to be available, and we're still looking at the same design from a number of years ago. I find this very disappointing since the Exocet was designed in the UK but now it feels like the UK market has been very much left behind.
I really like the square roll bar setup on the Exomotive Exocet too.
Are there any plans to offer some of these options\updated styling\designs in the UK?
Cheers, Brian

Have you looked at MEV website lately there has been some body mods done and a screen option Yeah I did, but this just adds to the confusion as the mods are different again to what is available via Exomotive. This is an example of what you seem to be able to get over there (note the different nosecone and smoked side panel & flat bootlid): Plus the LS3 lump up front:

Rather a flippant question posed in the thread title, please allow me to explain. Exocet is evolving all the time, aerodynamic wings are now available for the front and rear that have been proven in the MIRA wind tunnel and our chassis' are continually tested and improved if possible. We always test our chassis' with the subframes attached so figures do get confusing. Body designs change every year, more and more options are always being developed. We now have sets of tubular wishbones in stock and you can even have a full height laminated curved glass screen option. A soft top can be ordered and also higher than standard side panels in a range of colours or even smoked polycarbonate. V8 is an option as it has been done B4 in an MX5. I favour the V6 as it has the grunt without the extra weight. At Stoneleigh this year we will have 225 tyres under our brand new stylish cycle wings. Our 2017 Exocet has had even more tweaks and now comes as standard with a flat top roll bar and rear cover. We can also offer a full cage but these rather defeat the object as they weigh the same as the complete chassis. Here at MEV we take brilliant design and keep on improving it but our prices remain extremely low, we just take pleasure in providing excellence at incredible prices, no other firm in the UK can come even close to MEV, I am now officially a salesman ! In the UK we are not permitted to have sharp edge panel designs or rear lights more than 400 mm from the edge of the car so the USA body is not suitable. Exomotive are doing a great job, their own take on the most successful kit car of modern times. "Are UK customers missing out", I think not, cheeky boy ! I agree though it can get confusing, left hand drive gives the game away though if comparing, hope the picture helps.

Apologies if you think the title is flippant or cheeky, but in all honesty it is the impression I got when I looked between the two websites, and I wanted to be clear with you that it was my take on things after comparing the two for the last few days.
Just to be clear though - I think the Exocet is an excellent concept and design. I think it's great that it has been developed in the UK by an independent company, and that it's taken off so well, both in the UK and internationally. This is where some of my frustration is from - I don't want you guys (UK MEV) to be short-sold when you guys have put in the hard work.
Your response is very useful as it answers my queries and in reality it looks like there is a lot more in common than it first appears. The main things I liked about what I saw at Exomotive were the flat top roll bar, flat rear cover and the smoked side panels. I guess my overall point from all of this is that even now, with your reply in mind, I'm browsing the MEV site and it's not obvious that things have moved on, or what I'm getting today in the 2017 version? The first pictures which come up in the gallery are still of the original red/black exocet, as are most of the pictures. It would be good to have them arranged in a timeline and to be more "look at what you can have now!". Personally, I'd love to see a couple of pics of the more outrageous\custom cars too, to show off how versatile the Exocet can be.
In reality, I'm probably just a gullible consumer who has been sold by the glitz and glamour of the Exomotive website.
I hope this hasn't continued to come across as flippant as it is not my intention to do so.
P.S. I still love the nose cone from the US version!

Looking forward to seeing the new cycle wings and tubular wishbones at Stoneleigh. Any information, please, on how the weight of the tubular wishbones compares with the OEM 'bones? And what size of spacer is needed to run 225 tyres under the new wings?

Personally, I hoped that MEV (Stuart) would develop rear wings and some form of fixing kit for existing cars...
we've 'chatted' this out on here in the past, and I appreciate that the feeling is that the rear wing should be built into the frame, however with the existing Exocets on the road, that people like me want to spend money on but we have no outlet. Pretty sure you can buy wings and supports to be fixed to the frame as an aftermarket option in the states.

Nothing is stopping us doing a group by and getting some wings and/or other US specific items shipped over...

I've looked for the wishbones but can't see anything..

no, you are not going blind, they are not on our site, it's a secret!! We don't want to sell too many LOL. It takes the same amount of time to make a set as fabricating a complete Exocet chassis. The front tops look very trick, flat oval tube! £750 a full set inc bushes.

MEV - I'd like to get a complete set. I would prefer bare and no bushings so I can get them powder coated along with our chassis. Can you send me payment info/instructions to kpond@sbcglobal.net THANKS!
