My Rocket is almost done. I bought the kit partially done and I don't have any documentation. I just have to cut and mount the rear engine cover. Does anyone have a PDF or template for this? Thanks Jeff

Haha.. no one has any documentation mate. I'd look through people's build diaries to see how they did it.

Hi, I cut mine to provide a removeable cover - mevowners.proboards.com/thread/4218/stews-rocket-build?page=5But eventually I had to cut it into three pieces as there was no way to get it fitted with the engine in place. If you look at my thread you can see in later pages that I had added a metal plate to bolt it all together. Its not very elegant

I'm bookmarking it for the future. I'm going to cut the cover this weekend!

Mine is cut in 2 pieces, dodgy job though. You can bend the fibreglass quite a bit to get it to fit as 2 pieces. Its in my diary.

I cut mine into three, one piece making a "lid" which I hinged and the base cut into two with a split central.
However if I were to be doing it again I would look at slicing the lid off the top like a food can, maybe 1 - 2cm down so the whole thing can be lifted off to expose the entire engine.
Having a lid that hinges up sees it hit the roll bar and it is tricky to do anything other than basic work with it still in place, even checking oil is a pain.
Also if you took the lid off as described you should be able to bend the rest of it without trouble for fitting.
Disclaimer I have not actually tried this it is just an idea of what I think would work based on doing what I did before.

I have the original moulds and there are two single piece moulds and a 3rd that is a 3 piece mould with separate side covers. I will have a good look over the weekend and see if I can manufacture the 3 piece in the next couple of weeks.

Mine stayed as one piece (Australian kit for Zetec). I have a connector for the high level brake light and number plate lights that is needed here in Oz. Message if you want more info. Cheers, M
