Been mocking up the fuel tank/filler placement today and was hoping to have the filler door in the of the rear panel as below also making the cover easily removable. The only possible issue is the filler hose rubbing on the fuel tank or cover although it may be ok if I use flexible filler hose. Am I right in thinking that the hose can not touch any surface? I did think of running the hose over the top of the tank and into the hole. Any thoughts/ideas on how to make this work would be appreciated ps filler bracket is a temporary mock up Dave

Points for anyone who can guess which car the filler door is from as well

I like the flap idea. Why not fit the filler neck straight to the tank top and mount the flap above it?
However, CBS sell highly flexible, non-kinking, filler hose. It'll easily cope with the angles you need.

Yeah I saw that hose was hoping that it would do the job, was hoping to make it central or to the side as below. Just been having a play putting the cover back on which is a bit awkward with the filler there so gave up tonight and will re-attempt tomorrow before I damage anything.

I prefer your second option, I think it would be a first and it would require fewer bends...

May have to be that way if the centre fixing gets in the way of the cover removal
