Nothing is too nice to cut up. This was mine:

Just comes down to rather cut up a $2000 car with a beat up/wrecked exterior then a $5000 cherry. Makes more financial sense, for sure

If there's one thing I wish I had done...it would be to start with the cleanest donor I could find.

I got halfway through my focus donor before deciding it was beyond use...did learn a lot though!

The market up here drove my choice. No really cheap examples, the cheapest one I've seen is a 91 with 222k for $2k. I'd much rather pay not that much more for something in much better shape.

Small update: Donor has been located, year 2000 chassis rust free with a blown engine for under $1800, which is right up my alley since i dont need the engine. My current 99 sold last week so that leaves me extra to play with, suspect ill have 750 or less in the rollerskate once i sell off whats good on it.
We move into the new place June 5, and work will commence immediately. Expect the chassis finished late june or early july

More updates: Better donor found and paid for - a prestripped and rust free 99' NB! What luck. Got everything I needed and didnt have to deal with anything I didn't want to. Now have on hand All brakes, rotors and caliper components Fuses/ Relay boxes Brake booster Brake master Cylinder All suspension components sway bars fuel tank gauge cluster steering column steering rack and pinion pedals Additionally, this weekend picked up a Magnum T56, and should have my hands on the LS1 shortly. Excited for chassis delivery. On the short list to do is to press out all the bushings and replace with poly/delrin.

Things trickling in. LS1 in a prius Plans are a moderate-aggressive cam, a good degreasing/cleaning, head port with new springs and a new intake with larger injectors (msd airforce and stock ls3 units probably)

Moved into new place. Big step. New insulated/cooled huge garage workspace, seperate from our main house. Lucked out on that deal. Ready for chassis. Placed a HUGE pile of parts orders today for all the individual components. Parts should start rolling in next week.

Your garage is more extensive than the ground floor of my house! Probably most houses in the UK.
