I know I am probably years away from fitting mine but I have mocked up louvres as per the originals which will definitely move air but this will mean that the panel work in the cockpit will need changing from Stuarts original.

The car is now fully on the road, it feels like a stiff light MX5 funnily enough. The extra stiffness makes the world of difference as you can actually feel the suspension working . I would say it feels quicker and more fun to dirve than my old S1 elise 160 and much more of an event can't really push too hard as the engine needs running in and the roads are wet but with 185 tyres on it is very easy to drift round the corners it seems very neutral which is good so will start playing with suspension settings once the roads warm up. One thing I need to sort next are some wheel arch liners as the spray from the wheels finds its way into the foot wells, any thought on materials I was thinking thin ali or 2mm ABS plastic, would be great if anyone has a plastic welder. Thanks

marmot0 the replicar that went to South Africa has plastic wheel liners, I copied and pasted the builders description of the material in the last post on Replicar for South Africa

Honestly this car is well worth the effort, really happy with the way it has turned out. Loads more planned for the car, going to start thinking about fitting a supercharger so will be making up a Megasquirt ECU to while away the winter evenings to start the process. I have ordered some 2mm polypropeleene sheet to make the wheel arch liners. I have had a few recommendations about paint shops but would welcome some more I would like to get it done in silver similar to the new e type lightweight that has just been release.

Finally received my Momo to Motolita boss adapter so I could finally fit the steering wheel I think it really enhances the look of the car, I still need to sort out the center and was thinking of getting something engraved on it: The sun was shinning today albeit absolutely freezing but made the most of the sun and showed the car what will be it's second home and took a quick spin up to Brands Hatch but only to the car park this time, very cold and slippery and still running in the engine so just a relaxed drive today: Starting to make a start at the inlets and outlets on the body work, front ones are now complete.

This sort of colour? Come to think of it if you do fit a blower this type of bonnet scoop would look good.

Mercedes 300slr replica, couldn't find the picture I was looking for of a Japanese replica, same model, I'd seen on one of the Discovery/Men and Motors channels.

Just ordered a set of Vredestein SPRINT Classic 185/80 R15, I have heard mixed opinions on these but as they are half the price of the competition so I thought I would give them a go. Fitting these will mean I can sort out the geometry sorted along with reaching a compromise with the ride height, the next job is to fabricate the wheel arch liners so good to have the correct tyres fitted

Good info. We're just about to get some bigger boots too. Let us know what you think to your choice. I need to save up some cash first

Marmot0 they are the tyres I had originally planned to use but looking at the info from various web sites I am led to believe that I cant fit anything narrower than 195's to the 7j wheels. Now I know 10mm may not be much but I'm not sure its worth the risk. The problem is the next size up is 205 in the Vredesteins and they are £210 each and at the moment I cant justify that sort of money for something untried so Id be interested to hear how you get on.
