Can anyone help? the gear cable is catching on the chassis rail under the mounting, has anyone else had this or is it because my gear cables are from the MTX75 box?. I can either grind away some of the plastic surround on the cable end or raise the whole mount ? Similarly I fitted the handbrake lever and the cables won't reach the plate that the cables feed through, can I get a longer front part of the cable, the bit that fastens through the lever itself?

You can raise the gear stick mounting up by just putting washers under it. I think I just used a nut in each corner to raise it 5 mm or so.

I thought that wold be the solution, just wanted to check I hadn't missed something really simple and the fact that the cables are from the MTX is on the back of my mind. I hadn't noticed anyone else with the issue either. Any thoughts on the handbrake cable issue?

Decided to mount the ECU in the side void ala Daydreamer's build, I want to keep the engine bay nice and neat. Thinking about putting the fuel tank up front in the void that could be a useful storage area and putting the battery behind the passenger seat? Any thoughts?

Thought you might like my heat shields? Extra pulley installed and a few other photo's to bring the build up to date. Feel free to look at the build on photobucket The engine is now ready for installation Bracket for hydraulic fluid, needs to be power coated Front end coming together despite the poor state the threads were supplied in. Still onwards and forwards albeit slowly!!

Looking good Dave . One point - it's worth considering extending the mounting point of the belt tensioner with a piece of flat bar. I haven't got a photo of mine, but daydreamer put one up not so long back: linkIt means that you get better tension on the belt than with the original positioning. Martin

I did the heat shield a bit diffrently, I am using a double spacing on the back firewall, which is vented to let the heat out. Next I will put reflective heat mat on the inside of the firewall and the outside facing the headers. Your version is very slick too.

Hi Dave
Hope you had a good time at Stoneleigh at the weekend. One of the questions you asked was about the size of the Master Cylinders. I was looking at the connections I have for the Master Cylinder's and the sizes are 7/16'' unf Banjo's and bolts for the inlet and 3/8'' unf male connectors for the outlet.
Hope this helps Andy

hi dave can you tell me what additional pulley you added to the Engine please once the power steering and Aircon pump are removed the serpantine belt routing does not work.
You seemed to have solved this, so what did you use please and what belt did you fit, any photos of how you mounted this as well would be useful
Thanks
Howard

Hi Howard, I'm at work but I can put some pics up later. The easiest way is to buy the bracket from RTR and I can send you the part number of the pulley
