I have a matching key. One currently used to start the car but the other spare one which you can take as it goes with the ecu or you can take both keys and make me 2 duplicates without the transponder as I don't need the transponder to start the car as I have the dynotech ecu and a separate immobiliser.

Hi Bob, I'm thinking it might be the ECU could I try your spare with key please? Do you know if the PATS collar has to be changed or does that just sense the key code?

Yes you can have it. I don't believe the PATS collar needs to be changed as I read its only a reader, the code is in the rfid. Found out you can also extract the module from the keys so that we don't need to exchange keys and mess with changing ingnition barrels. To do it was quite easy, put a thin blade on the edge of the blue part of the key and gently extract the entire module casing then take out the chips. Below is the module for my orginal Ford key (capsule RIFD) and the clone keys (chip RFID). If the ECU works then just slot these into your keys. Bob

Hi Dave
How did you get on with your Sonic after the Skegness trip. Have you got it sorted and if so what was the issue.
Cheers andy

Hi Andy,
car are running really well, the Skegness problem turned out to be the cable to the crankshaft sensor shorted out due to heat degradation. All sorted and protected from heat in the future. I'm thinking of putting some cooling slots in the front edge of the engine cover, above the rear bulkhead as the engine bay does get very warm.

Hi Dave
Good to hear it's all sorted. I put extra vent on top of engine cover after I got it back from IVA as I thought the engine bay got to hot.
