Hi Guys,
Looking at the mevster, very tempted but need to figure out the weather gear situation (as I'm seriously considering ditching my daily driver when I've got it up and running).
Any idea what the softop would look like on this? I like the look of the hardtop, but the softtop gives me a little more flexibility... so I'm waying up both.
What about sidescreens? From what I can see this isn't something MEV are doing as an option, but any recommendations on who would be able to do a good job? I've been given two names, soft bits for sevens and autotrim, anyone used these.

Hi, I have been playing around in the Mevster of late. It is a great car in this weather but I would imagine a couple roll up clear PVC side screens that could be velrco'd on may come in handy. I did not fit a heater either so that would be a good idea. I have a couple that are designed for under seats on mini bus's. Quite powerful but very small. Interestingly there is no buffeting, this means the ride is pleasant. I was going to make wind deflectors from polycarbonate to attach to the windscreen side pillars but I don't fell they are needed. Hope this helps. You could ask a boat cover firm for the cost of sides or maybe a whole roof, it may be less than the GRP roof and then the sides. The roll bar could be used for support and then you just add pockets along the top edge for stiffening tubes.

Cheers for this - I've put the feelers our with softbitsforsevens and autotrim to see if they could tackle it, still waiting to hear back. I'll try your suggstion and find a boating outfit, see what they say. I'm ever so slightly leaning towards hardtop with 'some door option', can't really explain why I just think it looks better and I can probably get a better weatherseal (thinking of the daily driver idea again) - I like the idea of roll up sidescreens, two-part half door or something.... Is heavy duty velcro going to stand up to winter weather if I do chose to go the whole hog and ditch my other car? I was thinking I'd need some kind of popper/overcatch type deal. EDIT: Oh, and yup, definately putting a heater in
