WARNING TO ALL MEV OWNERS AVOID THESE CROOKS When I insured my tR1ke, a few weeks ago, Graham Sykes quoted me on the phone with a discount for being a member of a club. They then asked for proof of membership.I sent them the forum url and my username, apparently this was not good enough and I had to get Paul from RTR to email confirming my membership. Until yesterday I thought that was it sorted, but then I get an invoice for £40 as club membership discount has to be removed. I called them and asked them why, and was told that RTR would have to join their club scheme. I then called Paul back and told him and he read me the email from Graham Sykes which just acknowledged his email and said "get the club secretary to get in touch so discount can be offered to all members". It turns out that joining their club scheme really means displaying a Graham Sykes banner on the forum site. Obviously this can`t be done, so theyy have decided I cant have the discount and sent me a £40 bill. I have called them this morning and said I want to cancel the insurance, because without the discount they are not the cheapest, and I was never informed that the discount would only be applicable if a Graham Sykes banner is diplayed on the forum. Turns out I can cancel the policy in writing, but as its a flat rate policy I cant get any of my money back. Before I pay them the £40 I will be writing a letter of complaint to them and also to the FCA. so all be warned Graham Sykes do not give discount to any MEV owners, but they lie and tell you they will !

Tossers.. I'd forget the £40 if I was them, save face, learn an move on.
So, the £40 has just cost them a greater number of MEV owners policies?
Nice move Mr Sykes you geni"arse"...

I would send them the link to this and see if they re consider. Im currently looking for insurance and learning the cost of the actual insurance may not be the only thing to consider...

Rich If you search my posts in the insurance section, i had a right runaround trying to insure a 450hp rocket... Surprised nobody ever asked the weight though.. Eventually sorted through Need 2 insure, with no hassles about the "owners club" information.

Iv'e just renewed my tR1ke insurance with Adrian flux, it doesn't run out until the end of the month but I like to be sorted early.
Last year my cover cost me £205 but this time iv'e changed the mileage restriction from 1500 to 3000 miles so I expected a higher premium but was quoted £176
Last year they initially wanted club membership proof but didn't mention it when I rang back to do the deal. After reading your warning Paul I don't know if I should ring and ask if the same will be asked from them. Iv'e already paid but it doesn't start until 1st june

Something else has just come to me. Graham Sykes were saying the underwriters would not allow the discount, but all of a sudden its come down to no discount unless Graham Sykes is advertised on our forum. Really cant see insurance underwriters insisting on a G.S banner onhere to allow my club discount. More lies I think !

A plan for me absolutely brilliant every one on rhocar is going over to them at the moment, one option you could try and i,m not promoting rhocar before it gets moderated is join rhocar for £16 and save yourself £24 with sykes
Careful with flux they are really bad when it comes to claiming a few of us over at rhocar had bad experiances with them..
