I have a pug coupe 3.0 v6 sat on my drive that i,m breaking for spares for my other coupe and it set me to thinking if the engine / gearbox would fit a rocket or can rtr modify the chassis etc to take what you want to put in, as i have the whole car which cost very little it would make sense (in my head anyway) The engines are bombproof and great to drive with and easilly put out 200BHP and 210ft lbs @ at the wheels which in my coupe = !55mph so in the rocket with a lot less weight should = some decent 0 to 60 times. Can it be done? Has it been done? if it can and i manage to sell my atomic i may well have a go.

The 3.0 litre is a big lump and with the gearbox would be pushing the engine bay space to the limits. I doubt it would all fit in considering the space available when even a zetec or duratec is put in there.
RTR would be able to give you the definitive if you could give them dimensions of the engine and box. I take it it's a manual box?
Would make a good build if it's possible.
Ned.

Possessing a tig welder, and grinder, I'd say yes driveshafts would be the hardest followed by the exhaust manifolds. Shame it couldn't go longitudinal with a Renault gearbox. 6 jenvey throttle bodies on top, and f1 style headers in an open engine bay. Mmmmmm.. V6? Maybe the Renault 3.5 litre from the Nissan 350z?

That's a point. Stiggy should do a proper longitudinal mid engined build.

i am local to rtr so might pop in and have a chat, the way i see it if i could get a v8 in a narrow body pre lit westfield then the rocket should be possible. The pug engine can be supercharged to well over 300bhp there is one out there running 500bhp

We are doing the engine fit on Deano's Honda engined Rocket tomorrow so it might be a good time visit. We will be in until about 1pm. RTR.
