Well today after a long day at Rockingham Speedway I got home to find I had won my donor vehicle on ebay. So had a drive to see her and paid a deposit and collected the V5 and MOT so I can tax her ready for collection. Build thread to follow in a few months but gonna use her in the sunshine to see how she runs etc. Was gonna put a picture.... put don't know how

ok, donor bought and home safely, kit not yet ordered...... is it a bad idea to put some time and effort into the engine and box whilst still in the mazda? Was thinking of replacing cam belt and giving a good service, changing gearbox oil etc whilst its still on the body, gonna use car for a couple of months whilst I get the garage emptied and then start the strip

Good idea to get it running right before breaking it down. Doing TB and WP and seals up front good thought.. check the garage section at the forum Miata.net lots of info there on how to work on mx5.. The clutch I would leave till it apart if usable now.. If the box is shifting ok leave it alone.. Changing gear oil a waste of time as you will be draining it later.. just check if topped off.. drive it and enjoy..
