What's the accepted method of dealing with the fuel tank breather (which went to the charcoal filter)? I've made up a little blanking plate which works a treat, but suddenly thought that perhaps it has a breather for a reason(!) As I understand it the tank breathes in through the fuel cap and out to the charcoal filter. Will blanking it cause problems?

You need to screw a bolt in the rubber pipe on top of the tank and then jubilee clip it, remove the metal pipe and filter, then screw and jubilee clip the same at the engine end.

I think that'd have exactly the same effect as blanking it off as I've done? This is my solution. Really the question is, is it safe to blank it off?

Yes it is, the charcoal filter returns un-used gasses to the tank it is not a breather, for more clarification go to the build guide pdf on the exocet price guide

Thanks, that answers it, although it's actually wrong in the build guide - the pipe doesn't feed from the charcoal filter to the tank but in the opposite direction. The charcoal filter stores the hydrocarbon fumes from the petrol tank and then releases them into the engine to be burnt.
