Hey guys,
New to the kit car world and have decided to dive into the build of a full cage, M150R Exocet.... and change it with a big difference to really call it my own!
Haven't yet put my order in for the kit yet, because i want to sell my other weekend car first, my Mazda RX7, as its taking up space for this build and holds alot of capital, so its stored at my dads house for the time being.
Anyway, bought myself an R-plate MX5 the other day and started stripping it!
Pics:
here is when i bought it
you open the car door and suddenly you find a build buddy "Libby"
2 hours later, after picking it up 4miles from my house....
still hasnt lifted a paw...
4 hours later....
Next day, 8 hours in total....
Tea break, 10 hours in....
Pic with my mate Neil who will be helping me through the project!
and thats it so far! just need to disconnect handbrake, fuel lines, lift body off and take the tank out really! all good, fast, build fun!
I will do some drawings/renders of how i want the car to look, not to sure at the minute but i am definately going to raise the bar as far as kit car builds are concerned. Mainly cause i want something completely different to what everybody else has.
I am very into my custom paint and airbrushing as a hobby so think i will incorporate that skill into the build, aswell as my pattern making skills to make custom parts.
BE WARNED...THIS WILL BE A FORCED INDUCTION EXOCET!!! ;D ;D ;D
Gone for the 1.6 which will enable me to add a turbo kit easier, but that will go on as and when it gets through the IVA test, along with all the other custom stuff i want to do!
well thats it for now! will keep the pics coming as i love a good build thread!
cheers,
Jord
