Has anyone had any problems mounting (and keeping mounted!) a car tire on their motorcycle wheel? I called a local tire shop and they said the beads will not lock in correctly. Is it "good enough"? Seems like an item where "good enough" isn't quite good enough but then again people do race these. Is there something I'm overlooking?

No problem whatsoever! You only need a tyre mecanic who has a few years of experience and who thinks a little "out of the box". The first one I went to was very sceptic. The second one, who also fits racing tyres, didn't hesitate. The only problem is that you need 2 persons for fitting the tyre on the rim because the normal tools are not made to fit a car tyre on a motorcycle rim.
