Yes! Finally, it has started... well, sort of. Let me start by explaining that English is not my native language (I'm Dutch) so excuse me for not writing everything correctly. 2 Big things happened this week, sorted out the garage (this is the hard part I think) And got the donor car!!! This is what the garage looked like: Got something for the walls: And after a few hours it looked like this: Then decided this is not big enough so today cleared all the wood to another location... some progress will have to be made to get the perfect garage. More important, the donor car arrived!!! All the way from Germany! It's a 2000 NB model, driven about 70K Miles (in kilometres) has a 1.8 litre engine and is in relatively good condition, besides de front damage. Radiator and airfilter are broken but runs like a charm without them, drives really well (for a short while). Found almost all the money it costed: And... well a knife, a "walther P99" and since this is a German car I wonder what thorax the tip is in... And there it is... will start ripping things of tomorrow... Well this is my first kitcar build, have no technical background whatsoever (I'm a docter becomming an anaesthetist) and got only my father to help me so give me some time, excuse me for my lousy English and forgive for I will ask you guys everything...

Just ordered the Haynes manual, think I'll be needing that! A lot came of today but I still need the garage to be sorted out so no big progress... some pictures; My mother really likes the sight of this wreck in her driveway... It actually has a pretty decent roof! Now for sale hahaha Does need some force every now and then... Will keep you updated, first really need the manual on what's what...

Small progress today, selling all the parts is fun! But it's time consuming pulling everything out without damaging it... Most important; good manual and labelwriter for the wires... Pulling out the parts to sell is most of the work now, airbag and roof gone! Pushing it gets easier! Not yet as fast as my bike... Look at the damage it had! it seems the secondary belt ran into an airco hose... both almost gone!

I'm actually considering buying another donor car. Stripping the car and selling the spare parts is a lot of fun! They way it looks now I can get most of my purchase price back. Now I found another damaged MX-5 in Germany with leather seats and shiny new roof so I think it has the potential to earn itself back. Leaving me with a complete set of wheels and suspension AND an extra 1,6 motor which I can use for putting it on license. We have some sort of gas-tax... the bigger the engine the more tax you pay so a cheap 1,6 would be great to replace with a bigger 1,8 I have now... What do you guys think? Same more pictures of yesterday:

Yes I know... progress is really slow on my build but becomming an aneasthetist doesn't happen overnight so it's eating up my time... Managed to sell a lot of parts on some MX-5 enthousiasts forum! Made a lot of money that way! Today... the divorce! First of all, placed the Mazda besides the driveway on the grass just to annoy my mother... Then there was a borrowed truck with crane! Car attached to four chain pully's Lift off! On the truck for 20 meters... On it's side Now time for champagne...
