i need advice on which handbrake cables to buy,how to sort out the gear selection and what length are the brake flexi hoses i am using a focus st donor

oh yes and which top ball joints do you use for the arch brackets that bolt onto the bottom of ball joints and back of the front upright,

hi there.. im also building an st rocket a normal focus handbrake cable can be used, theres tons of extra length but if you hide it behind the rear bulkhead in the engine bay its out of sight and out of mind. gear selection is a tricky one.. i used 2 of the long cables from an mgf (they use 1 long and 1 short) they pop up on ebay every now and then. these are long enough to route under the sump and around to the shift tower on the gearbox. brakes wise i used copper pipes... i just think if you can spend the extra time bending and shapeing them the overall result is much better. plus they were easy to hook up to the clutch as well. throttle cables are generally bought from venhill... they do a 4m braided one which comes with everything youl need. pricey but well worth it. then see if joker (a member on here) still has one of his throttle pedals because theyre awesome and look and feel perfect for the car. selection wise as the stick is reversed you need an old focus selector like this one: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Focus-MK1-Manual-Gear-Selector-1-6-Zetec-98-05-/300607911223?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45fda0b537if theres anything else dont hesitate to ask. ollieballs |
