Question on the Daytime lights. Does Mr IVA allow these to be on when the normal lights are switched on, or do they need to switch off when the main lights come on? I believe officially they are meant to switch off, but has anyone had experience at IVA with these?

Guys, wouldnt it be easier to put the car through the IVA first then add the DRL's? That way its one less thing for Mr IVA to check.

I stuck mine through with DRL on the front - used them on the sidelight circuit as the headlights I had didnt have inbuilt sidelights. They came on and off with the switch the same as sidelights would, IVA man had no issues due to the fact a kitcar must have sidelights (nothing added to the IVA yet about DLRs as far as I know) and the LEDs are fine to be used as sidelights as long as theyre in the right position for sidelights. I doubt the position of the DRl on the lighweight would pass as sidelights though as they'll be more than 400mm from the edge of the car - assume theres sidelights elsewhere if its going to be road legal. If thats the case then maybe adding them after the IVA if you're looking at an unusual placement. bonus if using the sidelight switch is that the buzzer pings if you leave them turned on, and you dont have any extra wiring to do, placement of mine below after an IVA pass......

shown exactly where they were for the IVA. DRL are effectively sidelights, just white LED's apposed to standard tinged bulbs.
