I was planning a bike engine Rocket, well I still am once my 2L engined rocked has passed its IVA. You need to do a lot of planning and its not cheap. Bussa engines are expensive but also need the sump baffling which is expensive, also other bike engines suffer that same problem. A RSV would be a great engine IMO as I think these have baffled sumps. Dont forget you also need some sort of rear diff & a reverse which wont be cheap and not to easy to do. Basically do the reseach & cost things out prior to committing.

you can use 1999 to 2004 reg i believe, as long as its a good engine then it doesnt really matter. i bought a 99reg 1.8, 86k, 12 months mot (which doesnt matter really anyway) in overall good condition and it only cost £580. some people have picked them up cheaper and even cheaper still if you buy a cat D, but its nicer to know that you can drive the car home after purchase and make sure everything works and then hopefully be able to recoup some money by selling stuff off the car you dont need. it also depends on what you want the car for: when i spoke to paul at newark show he said the bike engine version is not as quick as car engine version when pulling off and car is easier to drive round town but the bike is quicker top speed and loads quicker for track use. hope this helps with your decision. let us know what you decide on.
