Can anyone tell me if i am using the corret copper pipe for my Exocets fuel lines.
i have decided to use copper fuel lines instead of the rubber fuel hoses. i have purchased some microbore 8mm Pipe, it does not say on the add on ebay about using it for Fuel, it justs says ok for central heating. am i ok to use it for the fuel lines or do i need to find a specific type for petrol. ?

Hi James, yes 8mm copper pipe as used for central heating will be fine it will have a bs number on it printed in black throughout its length. The IVA man will only check that you secure the pipe to the car chassis properly using insulated or plastic clips and I would advise soldering a couple of 8mm olives on both ends of the pipe to ensure your correctly marked flexible hoses do not pull off, good luck with the build. Hi Geoff, biggest problem with original lines is they are steel and very hard to straighten out and then re-bend, new copper lines are best and very affordable, I did use some of the original brake pipe for the clutch as this is much smaller bore and easier to re-use. I`m taking the Exocet to the CKC track day in September so I`ve promised Stiggy some pics and maybe a video on youtube, Ted.

Hi That makes sense I Got the donor a few week back and have it striped down to engine gearbox and spine rest all removed ready for sanding and paint, was emailing Stuart in regard to order times and hope to get a few quid to order a chassis shortly I won't pay me to go and collect it it is cheaper to courier it over to Ireland as we are all trying to build it on a budget The biggest hurdles we have here in Ireland south is getting it registered it has to go to a decision been made by Revenue and i could end up paying import duty VRT on the over all car even dough 70% Irish car
We have to see what the outcome will be next year
Thanks
