My steering column is all complete with the ignition barrel etc, however I do not require the column housing or column switch gear, ignition etc, how can I remove this switch unit to leave me with just the shaft and mounting bracket?
I just want to fit the aftermarket steering wheel and intend to use the bikes switch gear not the fiesta switch gear.
It seems to be pressed on, I can't see that its bolted in place.
Surely somebody else has done this?
I hope
Cheers
Nick
This is my second post for this, I have posted in the tech section, but it will get more views in here maybe?

Nick, Im not sure as i havent seen a Fiesta Column, but grinder should do it, But i know for MSVA you do need a good anti theft device, we had a ignition key but no steering lock, and he wanted to see another device to stop it being nicked, so we had to fit battery isolator switch,,,

I will fit a battery isolator defo and I will probably fit a quick release steering boss, if just for the test,
I think I can remove it all, will try tonight, I have seen something on Google today that has given me an idea.

You can remove everything you want! Just be careful with the airbag...

I've removed the ignition unit, but due to it having the bearing keeping it central, I will now angle grind the bulk if the housing down and refit a cylinder shaped ignition tube.
