I took mine out initially by undoing the 2 screws, but then had a moment whereby I thought that I had read somewhere about removing it having an adverse effect on the clockspring. So, couple of days later, back in it went and out came the hacksaw instead...

A cautionary warning, when putting the connector block back onto the assembly ensure you engage the fork on the indicator stalk with the indicator switch block pip. I did`nt and promptly broke it off. I still suggest the chainsaw method is still the easiest.
