After having seen the pictures of anglais having hard times to mount the fuel tanks I would like to join our forces on the follwing topic: What is the best way to mount the tanks? After fixing the floor of my tR1ke frame, I made a few pictures of possible ways to mount the fuel tank. Tank mount, original way: Bad fitting of side mount and tank breather is stuck below engine mount. Tank mount floor level: This one I like! The side mount will be partly cut off. I am considering to extent the floor so I have room for the side mount and place for the first stage fuel pump. (tank to swirl pot) By using spacers below the side mount I can adjust the mounting of the tank so it is neat parallel with the roll bar frame. Tank mount below floor level: (This mount is no option because of danger when hitting speed bumps.) Like the floor level mounting this option also has possibilities to adjust the tank, so it can be mounted nice parallel with the roll bar frame. Comments & suggestions please!

Don't know, sorry. I will have to see for myself what the best option is... Then I can let you know!

I have done the second option, bolted to the underneath of the frame, not sure you can do anything else hope you can see bolted to the frame near the bulk head straight throguh, but had to rivnut on the corner post . the black mess is the fuel sender rivieted, gasket fuel sealer, plus some more sealant stuff.

My goal is to mount the tanks parallel with the roll bar, pictures will follow.
I am not sure about the fuel sender mounted from below. Is there a way mounting the sensor from above?

not sure what you mean with mounting them paraellel, there is not much room, look forward to seeing it
you can mount the fuel sender from above, but not using the orignal r1 sender, roughly about £80 to get one thats a top mounts.

Looks allot better fit than mine! What are you going to do with the remaining support bracket on the tank. Thats where i struggled to get it all lined up.

Hi Guys,
the fuel tank tabs mount underneath the chassis and as they are made of soft aluminium they can easily be tweaked without fear of splitting the tank.
There is no need to cut the tabs or shorten them. Each chassis is hand made and even though it is done on a jig there are still small variations and sometimes things need a little tweak. The tanks are also hand made so again there are slight variations.
I will take a few images of our tank mountings and post them here later today.

Very neat solution See images below to show our installation incuding secondary fuel pump and swirl pot. We made a small extension to one of the feet due to fitting it then repositioning to allow extra space behind the tank. Paul Holmes.

Nice solution 2 ! I like the fuel sensor installation.
I asume this is tR1ke with the small wheel reverse installation and therefore one fueltank?
