Evening all, my donor I fully stripped and I am trying to split the body. Has anybody had any problem with the subframes "sticking" to the body? The rear is completely free and can be lifted, but the front appears to be stuck fast at the point where you remove the bolts under the car on the subframe....as apposed to the 2 studs. I don't have access to a engine hoist at the moment, so we are trying to do this with a couple of lads and a jack. Lol. Any pointers?
Regards Alan

Hi Alan,
I had the same problem, then found that there were another couple of bolts waiting to be dropped out that I had missed initially - I think that there's 8 in total at the front.
Might be worth re-checking to see if you've got them all out.
Cheers,
Steve.

Thanks steve, think I've only done 6! So could be the problem. I'll have a look tomorow, fingers crossed.

If you get a engine crane with 4 directional wheels it will be a lot easier to move away from the chassis. Also I'd take the doors off if I was doing it again! Finally the rear seat mounting hole seems to be a good hook point, and don't wrap rope round the scuttle like we did -it just cut thro the metal and the body slipped slowly back down again... I can lol now but wasn't at the time!

thanks for the pointers Andy, the body is as stripped as it can be, literally nothing left on it. unfortunately i don't have an engine crane, neither the current funds to get one. Space is also tight as am working out of a single garage! Luckily i do have some good mates who will lend a hand!

Lol, good luck well. We made a giant skateboard of two planks on castors and rested the engine on it so we could lift the body off on the driveway then just push the underpinnings into the garage. Meant we had good space to get the body off.
