Hello,
I wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. I'm Mike from Michigan in the US and I am very interested in the Exocet primarily but the Rocket also. I have never built a kit and the Exocet looks like a first timers dream for ease of build and costs.
I autocross and do trackdays regularly and raced for a couple seasons in SCCA club racing in a spec series. I built my street car into a racecar in 16 days to make the licensing school in time and then just added through the season with no DNF's pr DNS's and I never finished last in class or run group so I met my goals. Trackdays are my main focus now and for the mid and near future and the Exocet looks like a perfect match for me.
On a personal level I am married without children and will likely retire in 5 years. I have worked on cars all my life and it was my job title in the Army but for the last 20 years it has been more a hobby then a job. There are three tracks in the area I go to mostly and another three in a reasonable drive. I have had a Subaru WRX, Saab 92X (WRX wagon copy) Eagle Talon(AWD turbo 2.0 litre) Miata MX5, a couple Ford Focuses, and a couple Dodge Neons as my daily driver and trackday cars.
I look forward to learning as much as possible and hopefully soon getting into an Exocet project. The group here seems quite sharp with lots of knowledge.

Hi Mike
Wow, what an automotive history, I think sticking an Exocet or a Rocket together would be well within your capability and both would work well around your local tracks. Don't dismiss the Rocket (I am a bit bias i suppose) I suspect it would be very different from most of the US motor sport scene. Have you seen the pictures of the Race Rocket recently produced by RTR? It looks cool.
Any way, good to meet you
Cheers

Hi Mike
If you want a pure track day car then go for the rocket. It's much more track orientated. Is lighter and can be easily tuned.
The Exocet is a great kit car but I think even Stiggy would admit is a budget entry to kit cars and won't go as well round a track. However if you want some drifting fun then the Exocet is the car to have.
