Hi I'm max and I'm 19, at the end of last year I purchased a sonic7 kit in the same colours as the original. I quickly managed to find a ford focus 2litre and took it apart on my driveway with little more than a screw driver a handful of sockets and an adjustable spanner. Since starting the build mid january I am now almost at the stage of a rolling chassis with the next major step being a trial run fitting the engine. I hope to complete the build and pass the IVA test early next year. I have found that my apprenticeship with Citroen has enabled me to be more confident and also use a few tools from work to help with the build but I have also learnt much from the build to help with my apprenticeship.

Excellent start Max! I haven't worked 'in the trade' for over 20 years now and even though I never served my time, I feel my start in the trade gave me an excellent understanding of all things mechanical! When I was your age, I used to dream of GTM Rossa's and Rickman Rangers (ask yer Dad!), there was certainly nothing like the Sonic7 to drool over. Mind you, at 19 there was no way I could have afforded anything either!
Start a build thread and get some pictures up of your progress, I love photos me!

hello frozen rabbit
good to meet some one so young. Will was quite young when he built his, but he will have to post to say whether you are younger than him or not.
Any way, there are loads of Moggers who don't act like a 19 year old yet, you will have to attend some of the shows to see.
Hope to see you at Stonleigh and Newark
Welcome
