This may be a daft question but I have a 2008 MEV Rocket kit that has never been through IVA.
I am getting it ready for IVA but have been told by a kit car builder locally that the cycle wings are too small on the rear for IVA.
Is this right as if this is the case I will need to purchased new wings for the rear.
Can't imagine that the kit would be sold with parts that would not get through the IVA test.
Just need someone to help clarify this.
Still cycle wing related where can I find information on the positioning of the cycle wings to ensure they are correctly mounted for the IVA inspection. The kit I have purchased has been through a few hands and does not have any build information from MEV/RTR and very little history sadly.

2008 is an older kit so unless the wings we're changed at some point, or they came from somewhere else, I can't see why your wings would fail. Many kits have passed with RTR (as they were then) supplied wings.
Aren't the sizes required on the IVA website or in a document of some sort (I'm in NZ so am not sure how you find the actual regs).
You won't find much serious build info available from RTR. There is a build guide but it is pretty sketchy. All the best info is on this forum. There are many full builds detailed covering just about every issue or idea tried. You might get quick answers from Facebook but the real detail is to be found here.

The cycle wing must cover the 'diameter' of the wheel (not the tyre) when looking from the side of the car. Imagine you draw a virtical line down from both front and back edge of the wheel, the wing must cover the 'diameter' of the wheel (not the tyre).The wing must also cover the width of the tyre (looking from above). You will fid this in the IVA manual. See my terrible drawing below
* edited Radius to Diameter

You've drawn the diameter not the radius, however diameter, if correct, makes more sense.

I have a cardboard drawing I made to see. I used it for my Sonic, and here is the Rocket wheel guard on the template. See page two of my rocket build. As far as I can read from Australian DOT , they should fit the bill. 30 degrees from vertical for front side. 50 degrees for rear side and less than 150 mm above horizontal... I decided to remake some new wheel arches. The ones in my blog were not fitted correctly.
