Hi, Just thought I'd say hello.
I've recently bought a classic rocket project that part complete and been refering to the forum for information.
I'm hoping to have it complete by the end of the year subject to work but we will see.
Spec as it stands is a 1.6 Ecoboost with Delta SCS standalone ECU, Hispec calipers front and rear, quick rack.
I'm very new to this and better with electrical and electronics over mechanical hence plenty of time spent on here finding some sort of direction.
If anyone is in the local area and can recommend suppliers etc in the region I'd be happy to hear about them.
I'll get some pics up later once I get some online setup for pics.

Not the best photo but gives you an idea of where I'm at with the car as it was handed over. Next up changing rear discs, as they were incorrect, replacing studs for extended ford ones as the ones fitted were about 10mm short.... Then steering rack and brakes. I have no build guide so progress is slow. I haven't found a build guide yet despite searching for hours. Plenty of stuff on here for now to keep me moving.

Looks good, Fleecebay is normally your friend to find stuff, just methodically work your way through, only in Worksop, but not got a Rocket, currently have a Mevster & an Exocet.

Yeah, only half the nut was on thread. So best to work through everything and make sure it's correct.
The risks with buying an unfinished project.

How would that come about do you think?
In my opinion the risks of an unfinished project seem to be less than the risks of a finished project - at least you are inclined to check everything whereas who checks things like that when it's completed and passed IVA etc.

I have no idea. The guy I bought it from wasn't actually working on the build, it was his mechanic friend who couldn't be bothered with it any more.
As for the studs, I have no idea. Standard 41mm studs .. could be down to the wheels maybe.... This has Pro race 1.2s... whether they have a thicker hub or not.
It's not a big issue but waiting for the studs is delaying things so I'll be chasing those up today.
I've had a good read through your build thread Kiwi, very informative. I'll certainly be referring to that from time to time.

A little update to the build . Finally got the +13mm studs through so they've been fitted. Much happier with the amount of thread in to the nut now. Steering column fitted and awaiting a steering rack boot before the final tighten and grease to put that to bed. Test fit of rear discs and calipers. Clearances are tight but will do. I went off the build for a couple of hours and replaced the standard turbo with a Pumaspeed hybrid X47R unit that should see 340BHP

Hi mate, I have a digital copy of the original build manual for a mk1 rocket that I can send you if it helps.
