This weekend studied Dutch legislations. About placement of lights... This afternoon spend to make a better cover for wiring, support for swirltank, exup motor and licenceplate holder. Decided to place swirltank diagonal. Fuel lines have better direction.

Is the height of the plate based on the 5 degrees downwards visibility sketch on page55? Then you might reconsider to replace the swirl pod and mount the plate closer to the airbox (or make some fancy brackets on the airbox greets! Erik

I got the column in a vice, the wheel if it has an airbag will need un-bolting from the rear of the wheel first. then it should come away from the centre of the steering wheel. Once you have that removed you will see the nut on the spline, mine was a hexagonal shaft so a bit of tapping and it came off nice and easy. I decided to not use any of the original column.
I got a hub from eBay new for about £40 and it fitted straight on. I then bolted my wheel to it.

Hi Venom, I borrowed a 5,5 mm plug to unscrew. Exactly as discribed the wheel got off. What hub you used?

This evening cut and machined my steering wheel all the way back to a hub with functional steering lock. Pics will follow.

Left over of my steering wheel after the abuse: Machined central hub in place: Machined central hub in my hand: I machined it with my drilling machine, axle grinder and file.

Thats excellent, it just shows what can be achieved with the right tools, I like how the boss is very slim instead of my big ass bulky one ;D

Great mod! I'm looking forward to your choice of steering wheel and finish of the steering column. It's a big help you posting these pics!
