Thought the alternator had gone down so got a new one fitted.. it turns out the alternator is fine.. checked under bonnet fuses all seem fine. Does anybody know what else I could try?
Thanks in advance

Is there an in line load like a light on the dash? Without one the don't charge.
Does it pass through a master switch with dedicated alternator poles to the battery and if so is that good?
Both of the above happened to me!

I had powder coated the alternator mounting bracket , breaking the earth route through the mounting bracket to the block. scraped the powder coat off the mating surfaces and then charging worked.

Here's quick test to see if battery is being charged by alternator: Before starting the car, check battery voltage, then start it up, and check voltage again. You should see a reading above that of the battery itself - 13.5Vdc or so. If you don't see the higher reading, the problem lies with the charging system, and not with the battery.
