Ok we have our first arrival guess....
Any other takers??
I am closely monitoring the ships movements.
Not far to go.
I had to pay the customs agent yesterday and did not expect the port costs to be so much..
$5,500.00 for customs, port costs and delivery.
It all has be paid prior to the ships arrival or huge storage costs are incurred.
Cheers Dave

Still taking guesses as to what the exact time was that it tied up at the dock.
A word of warning though do not look at the arrival time on the ships as it appears that the arrival time is still some miles out , perhaps when the tugs reach the ship.
Very interesting as in the map you can see the ship and the tugs GPS signals and can see the exact moment the ship is pushed to the dock.

I may have some issues with customs as the box is listed as a Sonic 7 Kit car and not a Sonic 7 car kit. In Oz you are required to have a vehicle import permit to bring a car in to Australia.
Hopefully they will just see it as parts and not an entire car..

The ship has sailed and no change in draught so I hope they remembered to unload my box..

Ok so the exact time the tugs pushed the ship to the dock was Saturday morning at 4.37 GMT
So that means Buildityourself in second place and another first to Steve.
So all we are waiting for now is customs and delivery.
Double points for the date and time of delivery to my carport.
Cheers Dave

Finally something I can do! Is there much call for a professional ship location guesser?

Finally something I can do! Is there much call for a professional ship location guesser? Been thinking about this and, whilst there is clearly a need for this when Sonics or Rockets are onboard, it is very specialised. So perhaps start with something a little more mainstream, a professional bus location spotter perhaps? When you gain a foothold in the market you can then expand the service internationally. Eventually you could become professional federal paycheck location spotter.

The trouble with being a bus location spotter is that there would be long periods of nothing and then they would all come together, meaning I may need an assistant bus location spotter to keep up.
An extinct species spotter would be easier than a federal paycheck spotter. Actually both sound like jobs I have enough energy for, I'll get some cards printed and I suppose I'll need a Linked in page and arrange an international conference for similar er…. nerds? Maybe not.

The trouble with being a bus location spotter is that there would be long periods of nothing and then they would all come together, meaning I may need an assistant bus location spotter to keep up. Typical, I suggested a small business venture, now it has been turned in a government department, next you'll be asking for a bus location spotter manager, a bus location spotter ceo, there'll be a board of directors and more time will be spent in meetings writing policy and h&s requirements than there is actually bus spotting. An extinct species spotter would be easier than a federal paycheck spotter. That is a job for life in my opinion as I know it is impossible to prove something does not exist, one can only prove it does exist. Take Nessie - does it not exist or is it just shy and hiding behind a log? I'll need a Linked in page and arrange an international conference for similar er…. nerds? Maybe not. See point one above.
