I have what I presume is the usual configuration, radiator with fan at front and coolant filler tank at rear.
The coolant is Evans Power Cool 180.
I have just discovered that the coolant cap fitted is incorrect, it is short reach rather than long reach which means that the system does not pressurise and coolant is lost out of the overflow tube.
My question is, what pressure rating is used for the cap, I am obtaining a long reach cap.

Assuming you have a Mk 1 Focus engine (it is worth adding car and donor details to your signature line) it should be a 120 kPa (1.2 bar or 17.4 PSI) cooling system.

Thank you for your reply.
It is a MK1 Focus 2004 ST 170 engine.
I will do as you suggest and add car details to my signature line.................. can't find how to do it?
Is anyone running a Sonic with Evans Power Cool 180?
