Hiya, been a bit quiet while figuring out what’s best to do but the ball is now rolling!! After finding out the head had cracked on Kate, I’ve removed the engine salvaged what what left over. I now have a st170 engine that is currently having the bottom end completely re built so I no it’s all good. Along with ARP rod bolts and a decompression plate. She also has a sidewinder t3 turbo manifold to relocate the turbo unit above the gearbox. Got my self a Mk1 focus RS turbo this weekend.
The next thing on the list is the ARP head bolts then the engine is going back together. For the inlet I’m keeping the GSXR throttle bodies and getting Plenuim chamber for Dan st engineering. I wanted to keep the throttle bodies As I like the look of them. The only down side is the blacktop head and the st head is slightly different so he is supplying a new manifold to accept them bodies. Once I get the engine back from the shop i will post up some more pics and info, I’ve never done this build dairy before so bare with me lol my aim is to get Kate back up and running for March April time with 320bhp and a slightly different look... thanks Sean

That car has had some serious money spent on it over the last few years

Been a bit quiet again as had some hold ups. Progress got slowed right down as I had trouble with dynotech in Ripley. Gave me the worst advice on what to do and it resulted in bad engine damage. So it all had to come out and be rebuilt again but that’s another story all together. So I’ve some new spoiler brackets mad me up. Rather happy with them, just waiting for the powder coater to finish off with them now. HOONIKART 😁 Also treated her to a devils owns water methanol injection. I have her booked in locally for a new link g4 ecu on the 18th of June. I can’t bloody wait 😆
As soon as I have an update From the mapping I will post it up. Cheers sean

Been very quiet on heat after a stressful time getting this all running like clockwork. Had problems with stuff melting and 1 mapper blew my engine up. So massive set backs.
But now it’s all going well.. she’s back on the dyno this week. New spec is 2.1 st170 engine cosworth WRC spec pistons Pec Rods Running on a link g4 monsoon ecu Mishimoto intercooler Focus rs turbo mounted on a sidewinder tubular manifold which has all been ceramic coated Focus rs spark plugs Updated coil leads Straight through exhaust Water methanol injection controlled via the ecu. GSXR throttle bodies with 550cc injectors Evans waterless coolant Aem wideband afr gauge Uprated clutch (although not sure if it’s going to be man enough now )
I can’t think of anything else at the moment, been dropped off to a new tuner on Wednesday. Having a new launch control System fitted on the clutch pedal rather than a button on the steering wheel. Will be better. Also having a dual map set up so low boost at 1 bar and high boost at 1.6/1.7 with Meth. Very excited and can’t wait to get back.

Wow. Must go like stink. I'd be very interested to know about the brackets for your spoiler, did you do a CAD design yourself and get them laser cut /waterjetted or did you tell someone what you wanted and commission the bits from start to finish? Either way, a nice touch. You have convinced me... to leave well enough alone and stick with stockish power from my ST170/ITBs, I don't think I'd recover from one blown engine much less two!

so I have her back from the mappers. She made 310 bhp on just under 1 bar of boost. Anything more than that and the clutch slips. So need to get another stronger clutch. Seriously quick car, still playing around with the set up and getting use to the way she delivers the power now. Will probably treat her to a clutch over Xmas and a lighten flywheel. Then he can finish of the mapping, he reckons it should be 400 or just under on high boost with the water methanol injection. I will try and get some videos over the next couple weeks, the turbo noise is out of this world. It’s one of the coolest things I’ve heard. thanks sean

I had the brackets made in a cad drawing but I told him what I wanted. Then water cut from 10mm Steel then Powerder coater. It has been heartbreaking with the bad luck from mappers abs engines dying but it finally feels like I am getting somewhere now after a long 2 years of turbo concerting her. Can finally see light and the end of the tunnel
