If the Exomotive screen is glass it should be OK. Don't know of a height requirement but it needs to have a wiper. Strangely ATV/UTV conversions and three wheelers don't need a windshield but eye protection is required.

Is there an easy place to find the requirements for inspection? The SEMAsan document says that the statute is "adequate windshield." I remember seeing somewhere that safety glass is defined that it won't shatter so I don't know if lexan fits that (honestly I don't think it does). "Adequate" is ridiculously vague and I hate leaving judgement up to an inspector. I'm bad at schmoozing.

Registering a 'special construction' vehicle in AZ couldn't be any easier, at least out here in the NW - might be different in the metropolitan areas. Where in AZ are you? A glass windshield with wiper is required, I build the cars with one seat and have a single screen with a manual wiper for inspection. You aren't required to have fenders although they are a good idea, a lot of rocks get thrown into the car from open wheels. The local inspector mainly was interested in checking engine and chassis numbers, he ran the engine number to check that it matched the donor and that was about it. Pay your $25 and take the receipts to the MVD and get your plates! Is yours registered as a 199X Miata Spc Cons? Someone wanted my tub (is more interested in the title), but I don't want to give it up if it changes how the car is titled. I don't want to pay the registration taxes on a 2018 car :\

I'd be interested also. I just offloaded the shell last night. I did take my VIN sticker off though.
For the windshield, I am taking the recommendation from Kevin @ exomotive. I will get a car windshield cut instead of using the polycarbonate one just avoid inspection problems.

And the F1 replica as a 2001 Ferrari - don't know what they will do with the Sonic, maybe a Kode 7?

Thanks. I don't think an Exocet would pass as a Lotus 7 but I guess I could try. I wouldn't care if it's a 1991 Miata either (that's the donor). Hopefully someone that has gone through the Exocet registration process can chime in by the time I get to that point.

Sadly, my build took a backseat to work over the past couple of years. The only good thing about this pandemic has been I've been able to work from home and then spend a bit more time on the car. I just got the frame powdercoated and I'm trying to re-mate it with the chassis. It seems that a few weeks away from each other has left the subframe shifted somehow at the front. I have tried to use ratchet straps to tweek the subframe to align the front upper suspension mounting holes but don't seem to be having much success: If anyone has any good suggestions I am open to them.
